New in RoboShadow: Patch Summary Report, Device Group Exclusions & Bulk Device Restarts

Even with a big portion of the team out in Copenhagen for Pax8 Beyond this week, the dev team have kept pushing behind the scenes and we've got four more highly requested updates ready in production. To everyone who came by the booth in Copenhagen to say hello and chat with the team, it was great to catch up.

All four of the features in this release have come straight from partner and customer requests: the new Patch Summary Report, Exclude operators in the Device Groups builder, bulk device restarts on the OS Updates page, and direct .ps1 file uploads for PowerShell scripts. Each one has a short video walkthrough from Charlie below, and as usual there is also a lot of work going on in the background covering smaller fixes, speed improvements and modifications across the platform.

Our three new products currently out in sea trials (SIEM/SOC, AI Pentest Bot and App Manager) are continuing to progress really well, and thank you to everyone in the beta groups who has been kicking the tyres and sending feedback through. Charlie and the team are also continuing to do a cracking job tidying up the portal – the new blue theme is getting a lot of use already, and we have the redesigned top button row and the next phase of the AI AutoFix rule layout almost ready to land. As always, we would love to hear your experience.

In this release:

  • Patch Summary Report
  • Exclude Operators in Device Groups
  • Bulk Device Restarts for OS Updates
  • Uploading PowerShell Scripts (.ps1)

Now available in the portal

Patch Summary Report (Experimental Feature)

The new Patch Summary Report provides a complete overview of all patch activity across your organisation over time. Once enabled under Settings in Experimental Features, you can open it from the Remediation Report page to view installed, outstanding, pending, and failed patches, busiest remediation days, resolved vulnerabilities by criticality, and OS update status including devices with pending reboots – and print the full report to PDF.

Exclude Operators in Device Groups

Smart rules in the Device Groups builder can now exclude devices using the new "Exclude" operators. Instead of only defining a group by what to include, you can now build a group from what it leaves out, making it much quicker to target the right devices across your fleet.

Bulk Device Restarts for OS Updates

Bulk device restarts is a quality-of-life enhancement on the OS Updates page. Administrators can now select several devices and restart them in one action, rather than working through them one at a time. Scheduled / delayed bulk restart is a separate item that we're still working on.

Uploading PowerShell Scripts (.ps1)

The Add and Edit PowerShell Script dialog under Packages now includes an Upload .ps1 button that loads a script straight from a file. Rather than pasting your script in manually, you can upload the .ps1 file directly, saving time and reducing the chance of copy-and-paste errors.

Coming soon

There's plenty more in the pipeline, and the following features will be landing in the portal shortly. We'll share more detail on each one as it arrives.

  • AI AutoFix Rule Dialog: General & Advanced Tabs
  • New Blue Theme Top Button Row (with vCSO)
  • End user communication for AI AutoFix
  • Only update within current major version in AutoFix
  • Delayed rollout percentages
  • Auto Uninstall Rules
  • Scheduled / delayed bulk device restart

A quick reminder from the previous release

In case you missed the release before this one, there are five things in the portal worth a look:

  • PSA Integration Redesign (Experimental Feature): Streamlined setup, centralised settings and bulk actions across your service desk connections.
  • Windows ARM64 Agent: Dedicated native agent build added to the Downloads page for ARM-based Windows devices.
  • Enforce MFA (Experimental Feature): Mandate Multi-Factor Authentication across all organisations in your tenancy with a single switch.
  • One-Click Remediation for Unquoted Service Paths: Identify and resolve Windows unquoted service path vulnerabilities automatically from the portal.
  • Create Rule Button: Generate automation rules straight from the AI AutoFix interface.

If you haven't had a chance to explore them yet, they're all ready for you to have a play with. And if you haven't signed up for our App Bounty programme yet, feel free to do so now as we continue testing and refining the new features – we're giving out gift cards to people who send us good feedback.

Please include 'App Bounty Feedback' in the subject line when sending over any feedback to hello@roboshadow.com, and the team will make sure it gets to the right place 😊
